ABOUTTIGERS JFC

Tigers Junior Football Club

Through the club’s efforts, Tigers JFC is an FA Charter Standard Community Club based in Hornchurch, Essex.

We are very proud to have been awarded the highest standard of Charter Standard Community Club status by the FA.

We have male and female teams from under 7’s to open age competing in the Echo Junior Football League, Chelmsford Youth League, Brentwood Community Football Alliance Youth League, Essex County Girls League and the Essex County Womens League.

We have over 50 teams as well as our Cubs and Girls Development Centre, which trains children from reception and year 1 boys as well as girls from reception to school year 8.

Meet Our Coaches

The club, as part of the affiliation to Essex FA, commits to the guidelines set out by our governing body to ensure that all managers/coaches will be trained to a minimum of FA Level 1. The level 1 certification not only improves training techniques, but also ensures that all coaches have basic first aid training, child welfare and protection training.

All our coaches are also CRC checked (Criminal Records Check), and Tigers JFC pay all the costs for Managers to obtain their FA Level 1, their Safeguarding Children, their First Aid in sport qualifications as well as their full CRC check.

Tigers JFC is a 3 Star FA Accredited Club, which is the highest rating a club can be given.

We are very proud to be given this status by our sports governing body, having previously held the FAs older highest rating of Charter Standard Community Club It was important for us to be seen to be maintaining such a high standard again.

100% of the committee, managers and coaches at Tigers JFC carry out their roles voluntarily, and work extremely hard every season to give boys and girls a safe and fun environment to enjoy grassroots football.

REFSPECT TIGERS JFC

RESPECTING REFEREES

Today there is a shortage on qualified referees in our national game, with many leaving football due to the abuse they receive from the sidelines. Tigers Junior Football Club is committed to providing a path for young people looking to qualify as referees.

In fact on most occasions, referees officiating over matches for Tigers JFC will be a school child/student, NOT an adult. We feel very protective over these individuals and do not want to see them also giving up due to spectator abuse from adults.

These young boys and girls are learning the game just like the players on the same pitch, and this should always be remembered.

There will be decisions they get wrong, they are learning! Some decisions might even be against a team you support - it’s not a conspiracy! These young children should not be judged like an experienced Premier League Referee. And definitely not shouted at by adults.

They do not have the assistance of VAR or goal line technology! They need to make split second decisions based on what they genuinely believe they have seen. Please remember this, don't question them, support these youngsters as they strive to become confident officials.

Remember that these youngsters also LOVE THIS GAME and they want your son/daughter to love and enjoy their football also.

So before you shout or question any referees please try to remember:

They most probably are a child!
They are learning the game and doing their best!
Without them many games could not take place!

So if you see a young referee being mistreated?

REPORT IT!

WE only do positive!

FA studies have highlighted that 9 in 10 children play better with positive encouragement. Further research from the FA also highlights the negative connotations a negative experience can have on a child on their journey through football.

As a club our aim is to educate our future coaches and parents on their roles in creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all players, ensuring they have great experiences.
